MDF Buildout

A complete MDF buildout includes: relay rack or enclosed cabinet procurement and installation; overhead ladder rack and cable management hardware; copper patch panel installation and termination of all horizontal cable runs; fiber LIU installation and backbone fiber termination or fusion splicing; grounding bus bar installation per ANSI/TIA-607; complete ANSI/TIA-606 labeling; and delivery of as-built documentation including patch panel schedules and cable records.

An MDF buildout is the initial construction of a new or completely rebuilt telecom room. An MDF cleanup is the reorganization and labeling of an existing, disorganized telecom room — re-routing cables, removing abandoned wiring, labeling all active ports, installing cable management hardware, and updating documentation.

A straightforward MDF buildout for a single-floor commercial office (one rack, 24-48 cable drops) typically requires two to three business days. A full multi-floor MDF buildout with backbone fiber, multiple racks, and complete cable management typically requires one to two weeks.
